TASA Enhances the Strategic Deployment and Accelerates the Project Construction
On June 9, 2020, LU Xiaobo, Dean of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University (AADTHU) and Director of the Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research (TASA) conducted an on-site investigation of the construction progress of TASA and organized a seminar themed on construction. After the seminar, Mr. LU Xiaobo visited SUN Yonghong, Member of the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Work Committee of West Coast New Area and Party Secretary of Huangdao District, had an in-depth exchange of the construction and development of TASA. ZHAO Chao, Deputy Dean of AADTHU and Deputy Director of TASA, and WANG Jiansong, Deputy Director of TASA, participated in the investigation.

During the site visit, Mr. LU Xiaobo provided some valuable comments and suggestions on the engineering construction and carefully arranged the construction work. He gave a positive attitude towards the infrastructure and project planning of TASA and expressed his gratitude to relevant departments of Qingdao and the West Coast New Area for their support of the project construction during the epidemic.

On the seminar, Mr. LU Xiaobo noted that TASA is an important carrier of cooperation between Tsinghua University and local authorities, and we must make full use of AADTHU's subject advantages and Qingdao's industrial advantages, promote achievement transformation and technology transformation of TASA and drive the development of local industries, support AADTHU's subject construction and talent cultivation, and contribute to the growth of local industries and economic development, thus building TASA into a national demonstration for industry-university-research cooperation.
After the seminar, Mr. LU Xiaobo visited Huangdao District People's Government and had in-depth communication with SUN Yonghong, Secretary of Party Committee of Huangdao District, on key work such as holding Tsinghua Arts & Science Innovation Design Festival and planning the opening ceremony of TASA. Mr. LU Xiaobo said that with the constantly advancing of project construction, TASA was about to be launched officially, which is an important milestone, and teams of TASA would continuously promote various planning work and prepare for series of key activities such as the opening ceremony effectively, to demonstrate the development vision of an international and first-class institute from a high starting point. SUN Yonghong said that in the future, both sides would deepen their exchanges and cooperation and strive to build TASA into an international first-class design and cultural product R&D base, technological innovation and enterprise incubation base, high-end talent convergence and cultivation base, arts and cultural exchange and promotion base, and emerging industries promotion and business startup service base.
